Emerald City

Three green lozenges lie in wait for the kitchen alcove backsplash. Originally Victorian fireplace tile, I found a large cache of them on Ebay a couple of years ago and bought them, not knowing that what I was going to do with them. Now they are going to create a small Emerald City. Installing them is going to take some wizardry.

    1. Thanks HRH. I hadn't thought of a backsplash in quite that way, but you are on to something.

  2. If, and I know it's a big IF, you don't use them as a backsplash would they work as a floor? Mirror as a backsplash works quite well for expanding space - hell to clean, of course, and the glass cleaner will live on the countertop.

    1. Thank you, Blue! Both suggestions are a welcome ones. I can see them used on the bathroom floor, inset in a border of black matte tile. They would fairly glow, no?

I have thought of using mirror, but the wall on which they will be one faces the large Brownstone window. The glare during the day is a consideration. However, you've gotten me to experiment with a bit of mirror just to see how it might look.
